The official Android twitter handle posted information that a lot of you having been waiting for, i.e Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013) and nexus 10 will be getting the Android 4.4 update starting today.
While the update roll out starts today, some of you might have to wait a few days before it makes its way to your device. while, Google has announced that its Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablets are getting Android 4.4 KitKat today. The company also said Nexus 4 and the cellular version of the Nexus 7 will get the update soon.
Google touts KitKat as a “smarter, more immersive” experience with a revamped messaging interface, a built-in pedometer, improved multitasking and “full-bleed UIs” for apps. Major changes in Android Kitkat 4.4 are as follows : –
- Better cloud storage integration
- Revamped Hangouts app that integrates SMS and Chat
- New dialer app with built in search.
- System wide wireless printing
- New lock screen that shows additional data
- Performance boost
- Additional security features
- Screen recorder tool
- OS level support for IR Blasters, low power sensors, additional Bluetooth profiles
- Full screen immersive mode option inside applications
