Finally the day has arrived, Samsung S5 which was announced in MWC last month is officially launched in India today, which will be quiet a good news for the Samsung fans in India, It will be available for purchase from April 11 there is no Official declaration of price yet but it is expected to be in Between Rs 51k to 53k.
Customer can pre-order it online for Rs 1500 from Samsung India online store or from selected retailers across 8 cities; Samsung India says that it will be making more information available to customer through advertisements. It will be available in 4 colours Charcoal Black, shimmery White, electric Blue and copper Gold.
“The Galaxy S5 is yet another great proof point of people-inspired innovation. Designed to be both effortlessly smart and intuitively simple, the Galaxy S5 has been created to maximize consumer benefits by integrating superior hardware with enhanced smartphone usability and an iconic design,” said Vineet Taneja, country head, IT & mobile division at Samsung India.
The India version of the handset will be slightly more powerful than the rest of the world, but the difference will not be much as like earlier Galaxy devices Samsung will be selling Galaxy 5 with an 8-core Exynos processor in India whereas the international version will be powered by a 4-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. But the users are not likely to make out any difference in performance at all.
Samsung Galaxy S5 feature 5.1 inchs Super Amoled display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, powered by octa core Exynos 5422 processor of which four high processor runs will run at 1.9GHz and four low end processors will run at 1.3 GHz, it comes with 2 GB of Ram and internal storage of 16/32 GB which is expandable up to 64 GB, on camera front it sport 16 Mp of primary camera loaded with new camera UI and enhanced functionality and 2 Mp of front camera the device will be having 28—mAh battery under its hood and will run on latest version android 4.4.2 Kikat.
Apart from all this the three key features of S5 are finger-print scanner, a heart-rate sensor and the new body that is water and dust proof. Finger-print can used both for mobile security and mobile payments and water and dust resistant and comes with an IP67 certification.
